Here are some my favorite spots from home and away!
G hotel Galway City
€26 or €37 with champagne/cocktail
Choose from 3 different room colours- pink, purple, beige. Enjoyed the food however it took quite a long time to get our order in and subsequently get served, it is not the first time the service here let the place down.
Castlemartyr hotel Cork City
Beautiful ambient surroundings, truly feels five-star quality with attentive service, excellent choice of teas and wonderfully fresh food.
Réalta cafe Kiltimagh Co Mayo
Unfortunately closed at present but had to include as the passion for producing top class unrivalled home-made tasties was evident in their afternoon tea.
Palm Court, The Plaza, New York.
$65 (the new yorker)
Before catching our flight back to Ireland we decided to go out with a bang and headed to the Plaza to spoil ourselves! There was a place to check in our bags so no need to lug them around the grand hotel. The palatial surroundings are amazing. The service is excellent at no point are you out of sight of a waiter. The food is good but it was not out of this world amazing which I was expecting we still enjoyed it and made it more expensive by having vino, ending our holiday in style
Wineport lodge, WestMeath, Ireland.
While the surroundings are beautiful the afternoon tea was a little bit of a let down the scones were not fresh and there was no cream to accompany them.
to be continued…
